Production lines
The sugar is formed on our own lines. That is what allows us to describe a product by how it is actually made rather than by how a datasheet describes it, and to tell you at which point in the line a characteristic is set.

Who we are, what we run, and how the company is organised — so that the party you negotiate with, the party that makes the sugar and the party that signs the documents are all the same company.

How the works came to be
Eqlid Sugar produces and exports sugar. That single sentence decides most of what follows on this site: a company that owns the lines answers a technical question differently from a company that buys a lot and resells it, because the answer can be checked against its own production and its own testing rather than against a supplier's assurance.
The shape of the company says more about its origin than a date would. The works hold production lines and the capacity behind them, quality control laboratories inside the plant, and national and international certificates in the company's own name. Around the sugar operation sit the group's other activities — agriculture, livestock and mining — which is the shape of a business that grew out of the land it stands on rather than out of a trading desk.
We do not publish a founding year, a tonnage or a list of milestones here, because none of them would yet be ours to state. Those figures belong to the factory's own records, and they are added to this page from the company's documentation — not rounded into a sentence that merely sounds established. What is written on this site is what the works can show a buyer.

Production capacity
Our capacity is built for contract-scale, repeating supply. It is the reason a second order can be treated as a schedule rather than as a fresh negotiation, and the reason a programme running across a season can be planned with us in advance.
Quality control laboratories
The laboratories belong to the works. Sampling happens while the material is moving, not only once it is packed, and the figures that reach your file come from our own testing of your consignment.

State only what the works can show
Every claim on this site has to be answerable from a production line, a laboratory result or a certificate. Where we have no figure yet, we write the sentence without it instead of borrowing someone else's.
Keep testing inside production
Quality control is a stage of making the sugar, not a document obtained afterwards to close a sale. The specification you agree to is the specification the line is held to while it runs.
Sell to buyers who read the file
Our market is the importer whose compliance officer, customs broker and own customers all have to be satisfied. We would rather win that buyer slowly than win a quick order we cannot document.

How we are organised
For a buyer, the useful map of this company has four parts, and each of them has a counterpart in your own organisation.
Production runs the lines and holds the capacity. It is the part of the company your delivery schedule is really made with, and it is why a volume question is answered with a plan rather than with an estimate.
Quality control runs the laboratories. It sets what is checked, where in the line it is checked, and what is reported for a consignment. Your technical department talks to this part of the company, through us, in writing.
The export desk is the route in. It answers inquiries in English, assembles the specification, the packing arrangement and the documents into one file, and keeps the same reference through to loading.
The group's other activities — agriculture, livestock and mining — sit alongside the sugar business. They are not a side note: they are the reason the company is rooted where it is, and they are set out on their own page.
